C1a  Desktop Basics - Windows 10 (Beginner)
 

Are you ready to learn the basics about your Windows computer?  C 1 runs once a week (2 hours each Friday) for 8 weeks.  You will learn basic techniques and concepts that will help you feel comfortable with your computer. Hands on instruction is provided to increase your proficiency with the mouse and keyboard, working with folders/documents. You will also receive an overview of Wordpad, Games, Paint, and Microsoft Office and security and passwords.

Topics not covered in C1:  Internet, E-mail, Photography & Social Media. 

 

Pre-requisite: Laptop or desktop with Windows 10 Operating System

Class limit: 8
Class runs
9:00 - 11:00 once a week (Friday) for 10 weeks

What to bring to class: 1 flash/memory stick to store your work

C 4 Social Media Apps for iPad

This four session class will teach you the basic fundamentals of Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram.

  • Facebook - connect with people and organizations you care about.

  • Pinterest - collect things you find on the internet and within Pinterest, such as crafts, recipes, art work, hobbies, travel etc.

  • Instagram - share photos and short videos and/or follow other users like National Geographic.

Pre-requisite: Must have an iPad and basic iPad skills.

Class limit: 8

Class runs 1:30-3:30 once a week (Wednesday) for four weeks.

Cost: $40

Class Notes: $3

What to bring to class:  

* iPad

* User ID and passwords for Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram if you already use them

This iPad course is for those iPad users that want to review the basics then learn some of the new and exciting features and enhancements that have been introduced in the last couple of years. The focus will be on features that will help you get the most enjoyment out of your iPad.

What to bring to class:  Your iPad and your Apple ID and Password

If you don't know your Apple ID you will need to go to a dealer (such as the Apple Store) and recover the ID.  Your email application installed on your iPad and signed in prior to class. 


Class limit:  8
Class runs 9:00 - 11:00 once a week (Thursday) for 8 weeks with a 4-week break in between. Please see course schedule for dates of class.

C 7 Excel for Daily Life

Learn to use Microsoft Excel, a powerful Microsoft Office tool, for daily practical use. Topics will include familiarization, navigating/viewing/editing/creating spreadsheets, formatting, using formulas and functions, filtering and sorting data, coordinating multiple worksheets, printing. Exercises and samples will include event planning, billing, expense tracking, budgeting.

Prerequisites:

  • Laptop or desktop with Microsoft Excel 2007 or later. (You will use a computer lab PC with Windows 10 and Excel 2013.)

  • Basic Windows computer skills (such as C1 Desktop Basics course).

 

Class limit: 8

 

Class runs 11:15 AM – 1:15 PM once a week (Tuesday) for 8 weeks.
